Avalon Kirby began her pre-professional training with Elizabeth Shipiatsky and Sergeii Sydorskyi at Classical Ballet Academy and Ballet Melange, performing lead roles in full classical ballet such as Giselle, Big Masha in The Nutcracker, Cipollino, and Medora in Le Corsaire. She has earned numerous awards, including 2nd place Classical and 8th place Contemporary at ADCIBC in Raleigh (2023), prize winner and final round competitor of Grand Prix Kyviv International Ballet Festival (2019, 2019,2020), and 1st place in Pas de Deux at YAGP (2020). Avalon danced with Zikr Dance Ensemble and Maureen Breeze Dance Theatre before joining Richmond Ballet’s Studio Company in 2023. Here, she performed in The Nutcracker, Dracula, New Works Festival, and George Balanchine’s Mozartiana. Avalon joined Triad International Ballet in 2024 and has performed in The Nutcracker as Dew Drop and Sugar Plum, and Swanhilda in Coppelia. Avalon is thrilled to finish the 2025-2026 season as Kitri in Don Quixote. In 2018, Avalon completed her Vaganova Instructor Certification and continues to teach ballet, pointe, contemporary, choreography. She enjoys staging classical and neoclassical works and coaching ballet competition pieces.
