Dex Davison

Chairman of the Board of Directors and Director of Drama

Dex Davison has called the Triad home since 1986. A graduate of Greensboro Day School and Davidson College, he has spent more than 30 years in education in the United States and abroad. Early in his career, while teaching English Literature in Moscow, he met a talented Armenian ballerina named Natalya—and somehow convinced her to marry him and return to Greensboro. The rest, as they say, is history.

Dex is certified in Special Education K–12 and has devoted much of his career to teaching mathematics to students with diverse learning needs. He is beginning his 22nd year at Southwest Guilford High School.

Theatre, however, has always been his passion. A lifelong performer, Dex has served as Director of Drama for Artistic Motion for more than 20 years, writing and performing the “living librettos” that accompany its ballets and now those of Triad International Ballet. Above all, his greatest joy is creating alongside his talented family.
